MAVIS VERMAAK EP AND RUMI ALBUM
In 2008 Mavis' self-titled, five-track debut EP, produced by Juan Penguin, was released to critical acclaim. This album was written and performed in Mavis' mother tongue, Afrikaans.
Over the course of 2010 and 2011, again teaming up with producer Juan Penguin, Mavis completed her first full-length album - a collection of compositions of Afrikaans translations of works by the 13th century mystic poet Rumi.
Both the Mavis Vermaak EP and RUMI album can be listened to or downloaded from Mavis' bandcamp profile.
In March 2012, Mavis met fellow artist Wessel Albertse at a poetry evening in Cape Town. They started making music together soon after, forming the electro dreampop duo sexinadream. Currently focusing on other creative projects, as sexinadream Mavis and Wessel created a large body of work in a relatively short time. They plan to release these tracks over time.
sexinadream's debut EP, The Ghosts Of Days Gone Past can be downloaded from the band's bandcamp profile.
